A free lofi VST that doesn't feel free

What you get for free

All the core FX: sample rate reduction, bit crush, crunch, tone and memory (a tape-style wow and flutter), plus a dry/wet mix. Both sticks work with full control, so you can ride two effects at once.

2 of the 7 console eras, 5 of the 16 screen views, 2 save slots and the starter presets. You can play it with a game controller for 15 minutes a day - the mouse is never limited, so you can use it on every beat.

How it sounds

Old-console lofi: steppy bits, aliasing from low sample rates, warm crunch and a memory wobble that drifts like a worn tape. It sits well on drums, melodies, vocals or the whole master for plugg, rage, hyperpop, lofi and weirdcore beats.

Install in a minute

Download the installer, run it, then rescan plugins in your DAW. In FL Studio: Options > Manage plugins > Find installed plugins, then search PHASESTATION. On a Mac you also get an AU for Logic and GarageBand. Chromebooks run it through ChromeOS's built-in Linux.

When FULL is worth it

FULL ($39.99 once, no subscription) opens all 7 eras plus a secret one, all 16 screen views, unlimited controller play, music rumble, gyro glide and recording your controller moves as DAW automation. Try LITE first - it's the same sound.
