A bitcrusher you can play like a game
PhaseStation 2026 is a bitcrusher VST3 built around old consoles: bit depth and sample rate reduction, crunch, tone and memory wobble, all on two sticks so you can move them while the beat plays.

Bits and rate on one stick
The left stick is the crusher: push one way to drop the bit depth (steppy, gritty), the other to drop the sample rate (aliased, metallic). Moving both at once gives the swept, glitchy crush that's hard to get from two separate knobs.
The right stick handles tone and memory - darken the top end and add tape-style wow and flutter. The triggers add crunch while held.
Console eras, not just a crusher
A plain bitcrusher only reduces bits and rate. Each PhaseStation era adds its own filtering, reverb and noise, modelled on the character of an old console's audio chip, so the same crush settings sound different from one era to the next.
Mouse or controller
Any USB or Bluetooth gamepad works without extra drivers. No controller? Everything works with the mouse. In FULL you can record controller moves as DAW automation, so a live sweep becomes part of the arrangement.
FAQ
What's the difference between bit crush and sample rate reduction?
Bit crush lowers the bit depth, which adds stepped, noisy distortion. Sample rate reduction lowers how often the sound is sampled, which adds aliasing and a metallic, lo-fi edge. PhaseStation puts both on one stick.
Is there a free version of the bitcrusher?
Yes. PhaseStation LITE is free with the full crush engine, 2 eras and 15 minutes of controller play a day (mouse unlimited).
Which DAWs does it work in?
Any VST3 host on Windows, Mac or ChromeOS Linux, including FL Studio, Ableton Live, Bitwig, REAPER and Studio One. AU on Mac for Logic and GarageBand.
